Learning to read at Peasedown Community Library

As well as its services for borrowers, Peasedown Community Library is a venue for the brilliant work of the local Read Easy group.

Area Coordinator Alison Maughan explains: “Read Easy Bath offers free, confidential, one-to-one sessions with trained volunteer coaches for adults within our community who, for any number of reasons, can’t read or have limited reading ability. In the National Year of Reading, there’s never been a better time to learn or improve!”

Library Operations Manager Councillor Karen Walker adds: “Reading changes lives and as a community space, the library is delighted to support Read Easy’s vital work in Peasedown.”

Just recently, local resident Gary ‘graduated’ as one of Read Easy’s readers and now works at Swallow Community Cafe based at The Hive in Peasedown St John.
