A local farm, known for their organic produce, (as well as being an idyllic and popular place for weddings and glamping), is set to host a jazz festival this September.
Although ‘Radford Mill Farm’ – located just outside Paulton has hosted jazz and blues events regularly for many years, the upcoming festival (taking place on 11th – 13th September, 2026), will be their first foray into a full-blown Jazz festival, – which the organisers hope will gain momentum and become a regular event in its own right.
The inaugural programme will be “varied and accessible, offering a broad mix of Jazz styles to suit different tastes”, organisers said.
On the opening Friday night, Saxophonist Alan Barnes will be playing alongside the ‘All Stars’ – (a talented instrumental group based in Bristol and across the South West) This includes Jonny Bruce on Trumpet, Jim Bloomfield on piano and keys, Riaan Vosloo on bass, and Andy Hague on Trumpet and drums.
The Saturday programme will be a full day of music- (planned to run from 12.30pm until 11.3Opm) – with performances by acts such as, ‘Woodwerk’ , ‘The Ben Kerrigan Trio’, and more.
In the evening, acts will include a six-piece band playing the music of American ‘Blue Note’ jazz pianist Horace Silver, ‘Silverado’, and a Latin set by ‘Saoco Collective’.
The programme for Sunday will feature a Jazz brunch with The Mendip Swing Big Band performing two sets from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
