A new campaign has been launched to encourage more people to support local, independent businesses in Peasedown St John.
Set up by B&NES Independent Councillor, Cllr Karen Walker, the campaign will shed a special light on local entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders over the next six months.
Cllr Karen Walker said: “Peasedown St John has a lot to be proud of, but unfortunately we’re seeing less people use our local high street, due to the ease of online shopping and the concerning monopoly that larger corporations have elsewhere.”
Karen’s campaign will provide local businesses with:
• Free news articles that will be featured in the community’s Village Voice newsletter – which is delivered to every home
• Social media coverage across multiple platforms
• Inclusion in the Small Business Saturday village-wide events programme later this year
• Free information and advice on PR and marketing
“Small businesses are often the backbone of many of our local communities which our residents so heavily rely on,” added Karen, “By getting behind this new campaign it shows just how much we appreciate the hundreds of local independent businesses throughout our community.”
