A new campaign has been launched to encourage more people to support Midsomer Norton’s High Street and other local, independent businesses.
Set up by Nathan Hartley, Project Manager at Midsomer Norton Community Connectors, the campaign will shed a special light on local entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders over the next six months.
Nathan said: “Midsomer Norton has a lot to be proud of, but unfortunately we’re slowly seeing the closure of independent shops, largely due to B&NES Council’s unpopular car parking charges and the unfortunate monopoly that larger corporations have elsewhere.”
Nathan’s campaign will provide local businesses with:
• Free editorials on the Midsomer Norton Times website
• Social media coverage across multiple platforms
• Inclusion in the Small Business Saturday town-wide events programme later this year
• Free information and advice on PR and marketing
“Small businesses are often the backbone of many of our local communities which our residents so heavily rely on,” added Nathan, “By getting behind this new campaign it shows just how much we appreciate the hundreds of local independent businesses throughout our community.”
