Could you help shape the future of SWAN? Local charity seeks new trustees

SWAN, the Radstock based charity supporting people across BANES with community focussed services, is looking for new Trustees to help guide its future.

For over 40 years, SWAN has been helping local people stay connected to their communities. From providing accessible transport for people who would otherwise struggle to keep their independence, to tackling food insecurity through the RadstockFood Club, and reducing isolation through Cuppa and Chat, SWAN supports hundreds of local residents every year.

As demand for these services continues to grow, the charity is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its Board of Trustees and help ensure it can continue making a lasting difference across the community.

No previous experience is required. SWAN is keen to hear from people from all walks of life who are passionate about supporting their local community – fresh perspectives are important, alongside a passion for making a real difference -lived experience is just as valuable as professional experience.

Chair of Trustees, Chris Davies, said:

“Our Trustees play a vital role in helping SWAN grow and respond to the needs of our communities. We’re looking for people who care about making a positive difference and want to use their skills and experience to help shape the futureof a charity that supports thousands of local journeys and community connections every year. If you share our values and want to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.”

Trustees meet quarterly, with additional opportunities to support specific projects or areas of expertise. The role is voluntary, with a typical commitment of around three to five hours per month.

This is an opportunity to become part of a friendly, dedicated team working to improve the lives of people across BANES. Whether you’re an experienced professional, recently retired, looking to broaden your leadership experience, or simplypassionate about your local community, SWAN would welcome an informal conversation.
