A campaign has been launched to encourage local social housing provider, Curo, to refurbish some of their housing stock in Midsomer Norton.
Led by Nathan Hartley, project manager of the town’s Community Connectors initiative, the organisation has been asked by community leaders and residents to set aside much-needed funding to carry out necessary works to local properties.
Nathan said:
“Thanks to all the Curo tenants living in Welton Vale and Valley View who have contacted us recently about the condition of their properties.
It was great to speak to many of them during a recent Street Surgery event we held.”
Owned by Curo, and in need of decoration inside and tidying up/rendering on the outside, Nathan has written to the organisation asking if funding can be set aside to give the estate a refurbishment update.
“We’ll be putting pressure on Curo,” added Nathan, “to refurbish local homes. Some of the conditions that tenants living in this estate are expected to put up with are unacceptable.”
