Residents invited to have their say, and get involved, in the future of Midsomer Norton’s community assets

Midsomer Norton Town Trust is inviting residents, community groups and local organisations to an informal community evening on Tuesday 10 November, where they can hear what is happening with the Trust’s assets, share their views and ideas, and find out how to get involved.

The Trust looks after a number of community assets in the town: the Somer Centre, Town Park, St Chad’s Well, Silver Street Nature Reserve and Withies Lane. The Trust’s Annual General Meeting will be held as part of the evening, in a relaxed and informal format, with a short annual update followed by an open discussion.

The Trust is also keen to hear from anyone who would like to help look after these spaces, whether that is a regular commitment or something occasional. People with a particular skill, an interest in a particular site, or just a bit of spare time are all welcome, and no experience is needed.

Councillor Cheryl Scott, Chair of the Town Trust Management Committee, said: “We want residents to hear what is happening with these assets and to tell us what matters to them. If you’d like to help shape how they are looked after, or lend a hand, come and have a cup of tea and a chat. Everyone is welcome, whether you use the Somer Centre, walk in the park or simply want to know more.”
