Midsomer Norton town centre is set to welcome the first eat:Festival on Saturday 10 October. The event will bring more than 60 food and drink stalls, street food and entertainment to the town.
The free festival is a B&NES-led initiative and will take place across the High Street, The Island and the short section of road between the traffic lights and the Sainsbury’s car park exit.
The festival is expected to run from 10am until 4pm and entry will be free of charge.
Bev Milner of eat:Festivals said: “eat:Festivals were thrilled to be approached by B&NES Council to develop this new festival of local food and drink in Midsomer Norton.”
Bev went on to say: “Visitors should expect farmers’ market favourites, like ales, cheese and bread, plus some patisserie and charcuterie, plus street food showcasing global flavours from local ingredients.
“We will have entertainers all day, giving you lots of reasons to stay in town and explore the local businesses too.”
The organisers describe their festivals as events intended to bring producers and customers together while showcasing food and drink from across the region.
About the Organisers
eat:Festival has been organising free food and drink festivals across the South West since 2012, bringing together local producers, growers and makers alongside street food and entertainment.
Since 2012, it has organised more than 200 festivals. In 2026, 40 festivals are planned across more than 25 towns and cities, including locations across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
24 festivals have already taken place this year, with Midsomer Norton set to join the programme for the first time on 10 October.
Road Closures
Road closures for the event have been granted by B&NES.
According to the organiser’s website, it will not be permitted to drive along, park or unload on the following roads:
High Street between Church Square and the Town Hall traffic lights
The Island, for its entire length
According to the eat:Festival road closure information, the affected roads are expected to be closed between 7am and 7pm, allowing time for traders to set up before the festival begins and for the area to be cleared afterwards.
During the closure, buses will be diverted and emergency access will continue to be maintained.
