Celebrating local history

One of our aims here is to celebrate local history. Our community has a lot to be proud of with a rich history and a fantastic heritage across Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Peasedown St John, Paulton and Westfield.

Which part of our area’s history are you most proud of? Do you have any old photos you’d like to show us? Do you have an antique in the attic that needs dusting off? Send us some photos and we’ll publish them here on our website and on our social media channels

PHOTO: The Royal Mail postbox in Millard’s Hill, next to Wellow Brook Court, Station Road and West Road (Midsomer Norton), has King Edward VII’s royal cypher on the front – meaning it was installed between 1901 – 1910. That’s over 115 year’s ago!
