A free art exhibition is to be held in Bath at the end of June, thanks to funding provided by the Bath & North East Somerset Faith Foundation.
The organisation, which works with faith groups, local charities and businesses across the district, is organising the two-day event on Friday 27th June and Saturday 28th June at Weston Free Church (Moravian) in Weston High Street.

Octave is a collection of eight paintings, created by artist and theologian Elizabeth Gray-King, which invites viewers to pause and ponder on how they see themselves and how they relate to others.
Nathan Hartley is Director of the B&NES Faith Foundation. He said:
“We’re delighted to be able to exhibit Elizabeth’s work here in Bath. For over 40 years she has demonstrated a talent to be able create art that offers a calm centre inside complicated theological or social issues.
She is a commissioned artist, creating paintings for specific buildings and illustrations for books and websites. Elizabeth’s talents are known the world over and we are very fortunate to be able to display some of her work locally.”
The paintings on display in Bath at the end of June are titled, Hear, Wait, Watch, Leap, Chill, Call, and Fly culminate in the final piece titled Be. Using complementary colours, and lone figures, the viewer is taken through an exploration of how we see ourselves in the world, how we communicate, respond and relate to the divine and the world around us.

With degrees in fine art, theology and education, Elizabeth Gray-King is a professional painter and illustrator. Ordained as a United Reformed Church Minister in 1988, Elizabeth has been employed part-time as the URC Education & Learning Programme Officer. Today she spends her time painting, exhibiting, working as an artist-in-residence in conferences and teaching project management.
The free event is being organised in partnership with Westhill, a Birmingham-based organisation that supports interfaith projects across the UK.
