A well-used play space at a village primary school has received a much-needed makeover, thanks for a local fundraising drive.
The outside area at Peasedown St John Primary School’s Children’s Nursery has seen a whole host of new equipment installed – all for the benefit of pre-school aged children.
School Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said:
“The outside area at our on-site nursery was in need of a makeover and was completed during the summer break.
The work has helped to level the ground, add all-purpose flooring, a water station, two creative stations, an overhead canopy and a storage shed.
The renovations were funded partly by the school and partly by the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership Trust.
The nursery staff team then completed a sponsored walk in the summer to help raise additional funds to buy new equipment to further enhance the new space, raising more than £500.

Peasedown St John Primary School’s Nursery begins the journey for a child’s education, aiming to provide the most excellent of starts for children from the age of two.
“Our nursery is housed in its own purposeful setting, enabling children to access high quality, indoor and outdoor natural learning resources, whatever the weather!,” added Ruth, “if any local parents are interested in having a look around our nursery, please contact the school office.”
