People living in Midsomer Norton are being given the chance to take part in the town’s biggest ever residents’ survey.
Launched this week by local organisation, Community Connectors, local people are being asked for their views on a wide range of issues.
More than 3,000 homes will be hand-delivered a copy of the survey by a team of volunteers – with the first households receiving theirs this week.
Project Manager of Midsomer Norton Community Connectors, Nathan Hartley, said:
“Local people’s views matter. At Community Connectors, we’re keen to engage with residents and receive their feedback on local services, how their council tax is being spent and what improvements they’d like to see in their town.
The responses to the survey will help shape what priorities we’re able to campaign for, on behalf of residents, both here in Midsomer Norton and at the Guildhall in Bath.”
Questions in the town-wide consultation cover:
- Local transport
- Community building and facilities
- Public health
- Local policing
- Environmental issues
- Housing
- Retail services
Respondents are also being asked to give their top 3 priorities for Midsomer Norton.
“We’re asking everyone who completes the survey to tell us the three issues that matter the most to them,” said Nathan, “It’s important that as many people as possible let us know what they think. Each survey return will help us to focus on what priorities matter most to residents over the next two years.”
Community Connectors is a community engagement programme launched at the start of the year with the aim of empowering local people to make a difference in their own town.
“Community Connectors is all about listening to local people, understanding what their priorities are for the area in which they live, and giving them the tools and confidence to feel empowered to make a difference.
We also want to give people a voice! Too often we’re told that the views of local people don’t matter, well here in Midsomer Norton they certainly do!”, added Nathan.
