Midsomer Norton will host a national minigolf tournament next month when the British Minigolf Grand Prix comes to Dynamite Adventure Golf.
The competition will take place on Sunday 6 September 2026 at the 18-hole adventure golf course at Dragonfly Leisure in Gullock Tyning.
It will be the first time Dynamite Adventure Golf has hosted an event on the British Minigolf Association (BMGA) national tour, with the Midsomer Norton course one of two new venues added to the tour for 2026.
The British Minigolf Grand Prix is a relatively new addition to the national calendar but combines two different forms of competition in a fast-paced one-day tournament.
Players will compete over three rounds of individual strokeplay, with the lowest overall score determining the singles competition. There will also be two rounds of alternate-shot doubles, where pairs of players take turns playing shots.
The tournament is expected to attract competitive minigolf players from around the country, with entries now being taken by the British Minigolf Association.
The BMGA is the national governing body for competitive minigolf in the UK and organises tournaments around the country. It is also affiliated to the World Minigolf Sport Federation, allowing British players to compete internationally.
A Midsomer Norton course joins the national tour
Dynamite Adventure Golf is located next to Dragonfly Leisure’s Midsomer Norton centre and features an 18-hole coal-mining-themed course, reflecting the area’s industrial heritage.
The outdoor course is open throughout the year and includes illuminated holes and pathways for evening play. It is also designed to be accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Although normally operated as a recreational attraction for families and casual players, September’s Grand Prix will see the course used for competitive tournament play.
Its inclusion on the 2026 BMGA calendar puts Midsomer Norton alongside established minigolf venues including Hastings, Margate, Gloucester, Wisbech, Prestatyn and Castleford.
The Grand Prix is one of the remaining national events in this year’s BMGA calendar, ahead of the British Open at Hastings later in September.
For Midsomer Norton, it represents an unusual opportunity to host competitors from the national minigolf circuit and to see the town’s adventure golf course used for a British-level sporting event.
