New round of Bath neighbourhood funding open for applications

Community organisations across Bath are being encouraged to apply for funding for projects that make a real difference to local neighbourhoods.

Bath & North East Somerset Council has opened the latest round of its Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Neighbourhood Fund, which invests money from new developments into community-led projects across the city that improve local areas.

Since 2015, the council has awarded more than £2.8 million to 80 projects across Bath. The projects awarded a total of more than £270,000 funding in the previous round in May included a new football cage at Royal Victoria Park, a sensory garden at Oldfield School and pedestrian safety improvements in Lambridge.

Local organisations can apply for the funding on the council website for projects which support the community and respond to local needs. Applications are open until midnight on 26 August 2026.

Bath & North East Somerset Council administers CIL funding in Bath. In North East Somerset, town and parish councils are responsible for allocating the portion of the levy they receive.

Councillor Kevin Guy, Council Leader, said: “Communities know best what their neighbourhoods need. This funding gives local groups the opportunity to turn ideas into practical improvements that benefit residents and help shape the future of Bath. Please come forward with your applications.”

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of ward councillors, with final decisions made by the Leader of the Council.
