£10,000 investment in new Peasedown street lights

Two residential streets in Peasedown St John have received a funding windfall following a campaign led by the village’s Independent Councillors, Gavin Heathcote and Karen Walker.

Bramley Close and Knightstone Close have been the recipients of £10,000 worth of investment to replace their old, outdated street lighting columns.

The funding was provided by B&NES Council, and the works have been carried out recently.

Cllr Gavin Heathcote and Cllr Karen Walker said:

“We’re often lobbying B&NES Council for additional funding for our community, such as the many requests we receive from residents on a weekly basis.

After repeated requests, last year we secured £10,000 to update the street lighting columns in two Peasedown streets – Knightstone Close and Bramley Close.

The replacement works have now been completed, which means the old concrete columns have been removed, and new ones installed.”

Gavin and Karen are keen to hear from any other residents who are concerned about the lighting in their street, and if it needs to be replaced.
